The year has started a little bit more busily than anticipated and at the same pace as the run up to Christmas. December was my busiest month of the year! How generally unexpected and lovely.  So it sprang on me that I hadn’t updated the blog for months and my Christmas message was still front and center, eeek! With this in mind here is a glimpse at two of the events that kept me busy. First of all the fabulous Helen and Tom, who had their gorgeous festive wedding at The Manor Weston on the Green, after a beautiful service at St Giles Church, Oxford.

Sal and Kris has their gorgeous intimate winter wedding at Mallory Court, Leamington Spa, a wedding full of laughter.

In addition to these two gorgeous weddings, I also covered several fabulous Christmas parties in London, and had a very lovely day at the Harry Potter Warner Bros Studios,  capturing a corporate event.  Not forgetting some family portraits and business photography. It never ceases to amaze me the fabulous and exciting places that this job takes me and the truly lovely people I get to meet.  I hope that 2016 is being kind to you all, I won’t make my usual promise of trying to update my blog, I do and will try,  but honestly I enjoy being out taking images, being creative and meeting my clients much more than sitting at my desk updating the website:)

We don’t all like to have out photo taken, but with our business being increasingly online we need to ensure our profile images look the part, so together with the fabulous Debbie Mac hair and Make Up Artist we have put together a little relaxed pamper and photo session to make it a treat  rather than a chore.

So, be bold, be brave, be beautiful, book in and give yourself and your business a little boost.

Just before Christmas, on an exceptionally cold night  I headed back to Chilford Hall to capture a rather spectacular Christmas party, featuring a rather special combination of of Papakata teepee’s, warm fires and Egyptian styling.

The Event Logistics Management team did an outstanding job of feeding everyone gorgeous food (That included me too :)) and the night was packed with a whole host of exciting treats including talking Christmas trees, magician, band, disco, cocktails, henna tattoos, face painting, Camel photo booth, light up glasses by Chemion Glasses UK, the list goes on!

Here is a little look at how gorgeous it all looked.

I loved this little afternoon with this fun family of all ages who had traveled from all over the country to help celebrate the man of the moments retirement.

I only stayed a short time to capture everyone before dinner, you don’t always need to book a photographer for hours on end, it was all about capturing the family together.

Here is a little peek.

If you peek often at my blog you may recognise 3 of the faces:)

On a late summer’s day a lovely group of creative wedding suppliers came together to create an autumn inspired shoot, those lovelies were:

Nikki from Budd’s Flowers by Design

Debbie from Debbie Mac Hair and Make Up

Rachel from Butterfly Bridal Boutique

Karin from Stratton Court Barn

and our gorgeous model for the day was May.

The idea behind the day and shoot was to bring together some wedding ideas that were already floating around and put a new twist on them, such as the moss covered step seating plan, as well as bring in some lovely strong and bright autumn colours as a direct contract to the pastels that have been so widely seen in the summer months.

Stratton Court Barn is a lovely rustic country wedding venue and we wanted to reflect this in the styling of the shoot and images. The gorgeous dresser in the main barn was a beautiful stage for our Lovely cake made by the talented Moon bug Cakes. It also provides a really beautiful backdrop in the room for floral displays or anything else you want to make a feature of.

Nikki also wanted to bring to the fore some ideas for using slices of tree trunk, by making a feature in a usually unused corner of the room turning it into a feature. Using candles and skeleton leaves and bark you can transform jam jars. Add in some contrasting  rafia to complete the look.

We had a lot of fun choosing gowns from Rachel’s fabulous boutique in Bicester. This season there are sooooo many gorgeous styles to choose from. Dresses with sleeves, lace straps, gorgeous lace capes reminiscent of Downton Abbey, beautiful backs, sparkle detail, no sparkle. The list goes on.

Then working with Debbie we worked some relaxed natural make up and hair styles, working up to some more structured styles and adding in some more dramatic eye and lip colours.  We had flowers in the hair, in a halo ring and left hair natural. It really was great to try so many different ideas.

Anyway I will stop wittering on now and let you view the images and see for yourself the fun we had. We hope they give you lots of ideas for your own wedding.
