Cambridge Wedding Photographer Takes a French Holiday

Posted in Random Stuff

We didn’t have a holiday last year as Simon was away for most of the year and the summer was really busy for me, so now that Simon is back in the UK and had some leave to use, we decided to have a little french holiday near my parents french farmhouse they are restoring.  It was always going to be a working holiday but one with treats along the way and the first of which was the gorgeous and perfectly formed French Gite we had booked for the week.

This little haven was perfect for us, with open views across the countryside, warm and cosy and perfectly formed for two, it was just the all mod cons retreat we needed. Sally and Richard the owners had converted this small barn about 18 months ago and their attention to detail is phenomenal. No detail is too small to have been over looked. In fact it’s already been used by several honeymooning couples as the perfect place to get away from it all and relax after the big day.

We are intending to go back in the summer so we can make the most of the outside space and pool:)

If you want to have a look at the gite in more detail you can see it here, but for now here are some images from our stay.

P.S The fresh free range eggs from Sally’s Chickens are AMAZING!!!

The next post will be all the images from the hard work on my parents house, there is still lots to be done, but we achieved far more than we expected to, so keep your eyes peeled for the next installment.

Posted in Portraits

Everyone say Hi to Eira. Eira is the latest addition to Emma and Ed’s family and joins big sister Evie. Yes that makes a house full of names starting with E!!

Congratulations to Emma, Ed and Evie on their new addition who I know will complete this beautiful family.

A small selection of images I took when Eira was only days old and I was invited to come for cuddles and pics.

Much love to you all xxxx

Jen and Gavin’s Clock Barn Wedding

Posted in Weddings

I first met Jen and Gavin at a wedding show, and was excited to hear all about their wedding plans which promised to be a very different wedding. So I was absolutely delighted when they decided to book me for their wedding photography.

Their venue was the Clock Barn in Surrey, which is close to Jen’s parents and allowed them to not only decorate it to suit them but also run their day the way they wanted to, out the door to many wedding day conventions.

Both of them have a real love of Robots and Jen is a pagan so the theme for their wedding was Robots and Ivy. Add to this unusual theme a very personal pagan hand tying ceremony and picnic blankets on the lawn in the sunshine, and you have the recipe for a truly unique and wonderful wedding.

If that’s not enough, also included are: a the gorgeous custom purple wedding dress with beautiful silk coat, custom designed engagement and wedding rings, a game of dib dab, truly unique cake toppers and a fantastic first dance.

Sadly a pagan wedding is not legally binding so we headed off to Guildford Registry office for the legal bits first before returning to The Clock Barn.

So let me introduce you to Jen and Gavin and their wedding, enjoy.

Jen and Gavin thank you so much for inviting me to capture your truly unique day. I loved every minute of it. Best wishes for a robot filled future:)

Danni and Matt’s Hinxton Hall Wedding

Posted in Weddings

So another unpredictable day in August, with split skies of beautiful blue and dark moody clouds with a smattering of rain, The first shot of the day captures that scene, strange weather.

Danni and Matt met at university, and now live away from their families, so it was lovely to see everyone coming together for their day.

Music is really important to Danni and the gospel choir in the church really brought a toe tapping happy vibe to the day. Followed later in the day by a very special first dance song. Danni had secretly recorded her own version of their song and it was truly breath taking, not a dry eye in the house.

The couple portraits were really important to Danni and Matt so they had allowed extra time, which meant we had sunshine and blue skies and stormy skies and rain all in one session. It’s given them a really fun and diverse selection of images.

I was accompanied by Rhian Askins a talented photographer and friend from Liverpool. Thank you Rhian is was great fun as always:)

So without further ado here are some images from Danni and Matt’s day.

Danni and Matt, thank you for asking me to document your day, we had so much fun. Best wishes for your future together xxx
