Kathryn and Paul’s Pumpkin Themed Cambridge Wedding

Posted in Weddings

Paul and Kathryn chose to have a small intimate wedding with family and close friends, they wanted to keep it simple and local and so choose a venue close to home where they could completely customise it to suit their day.

And what beautiful details their created, just wait until you see them, all made by a friend as well, that’s one very talented friend!

We were spoilt with another sunny day and considering it was October it was beautiful. So here’s a peek into their day.

Brown Family Portraits – Cambridge Wedding Photographer

Posted in Portraits

Back in the Autumn I was lucky enough to capture the Brown family portraits the day that Mike left for Afghanistan.

(If you have a loved one leaving for Afghanistan please contact me about my special portrait rates for military families).

We were blessed with gorgeous sunshine, and had a lovely hour, capturing some gorgeous portraits. I have this week delivered two framed sets of images and additional prints which they ordered when Mike was home on his R&R. They have a little while until Mike will be home so along with everyone else I wish Mike a safe tour, and leave you with a peek at some of their images.

Kelly and Chris Newlands Hall Wedding

Posted in Weddings

I first met Kelly and Chris when Kelly was a bridesmaid at Liz and Rob’s Wedding at Gosfield Hall, so I was really excited when we met up and she asked if I would document their wedding this year.

Over the time since I documented Liz and Rob’s wedding I have met and become friends with many of the group including Kelly and Chris, so we got a really warm welcome all day.

This day started at home at Kelly’s parents house with all the girls together and Kelly’s very proud Dad. The rest of the day was filled with lots of surprises, the biggest of which was Kelly’s wedding present to Chris. A motorbike he had always dreamed of having but Kelly had always said no. He was absolutely speechless can capturing that moment was priceless.

Kelly designed and had her bridesmaids dresses made as she wanted something different, add to that her huge, gorgeous Hollywood Dreams dress, and sparkles, there were plenty of girly treats to capture.

Rhian Askins my good friend and fellow photographer came with me to document the day, thank you Rhian for all your hard work xx

So meet Kelly and Chris and enjoy.

Baby Joe Lifestyle Portraits

Posted in Portraits

Carley and Ian were wedding clients of mine and we have kept in touch ever since, I was over moon to learn they were expecting and when Baby Joe arrived I was even more excited to go and meet him.

Carly and Ian live on the edge of Hatfield Forest and it’s a really important place to them so we headed out there to capture some images of the new family.

When we headed back in we had to make sure to get some shots of Joe with his Dad’s melodian, and I understand that Joe loves the sound of it.

Joe is just so cute, enjoy!Cambridge Wedding Photographer - Baby PortraitsCambridge Wedding Photographer - Baby PortraitsCambridge Wedding Photographer - Baby PortraitsCambridge Wedding Photographer - Baby PortraitsCambridge Wedding Photographer - Baby PortraitsCambridge Wedding Photographer - Baby PortraitsCambridge Wedding Photographer - Baby PortraitsCambridge Wedding Photographer - Baby PortraitsCambridge Wedding Photographer - Baby PortraitsCambridge Wedding Photographer - Baby PortraitsCambridge Wedding Photographer - Baby PortraitsCambridge Wedding Photographer - Baby PortraitsCambridge Wedding Photographer - Baby PortraitsCambridge Wedding Photographer - Baby PortraitsCambridge Wedding Photographer - Baby PortraitsCambridge Wedding Photographer - Baby Portraits

Cambridge Wedding Photographer – French Holiday part two

Posted in Random Stuff

So you saw where we stayed in the first post, here if you missed it, So now you can see what we got up to.

My parents have bought an old farm house with an attached barn. Now by french standards it’s habitable but that still makes it a long way from the dream home they are creating.

So in February our task was to work in the barn to create the new utility room, now it might sound like the priorities are wrong but for now Mum and Dad are living in the caravan with a washing machine sat in the middle of the kitchen. Or rather soon to be kitchen. There is a rather beautiful wood burner fitted in the kitchen so we can all keep warm and have somewhere cozy to eat at night, but there is an awful lot of work to be done so they need somewhere for the fridge and washer to go whilst all the work is done and also they needed to drill through the barn wall to get water and waste into the barn. Anyway enough, that was the main task of the week.

For the utility room we had to clear out the barn, take down part of the old beam roof, dig out the floor, drill through the barn wall, build the base, connect the waste pipe and then put down tonnes of hard core, sand and cover the pipe ready for concrete, which went down the day after left.

Now along with the main task we also had lots of rubbish to burn, a tree that was about to start wrapping it’s self around the power line and lots of other bits and pieces of work to do.

We also spent a day with the local french community clearing the local footpaths to ensure that they can walked in better weather, some of them at the moment are like running streams as the winter rain finds somewhere to go. Hard to belief but 3 years ago the route we walked was un-passable. The lunch was amazing, the hospitality truly welcoming.

And finally, we were well fed with local bread and croissants, oh and a really beautiful meal out one night. Drank lots of local wine, just to make sure it was ok you understand.;)And so it was on the last night at 11pm, after too many bottles of red wine I have to say we completed the last task of the week, to measure out on the floor, the new kitchen, so that the kitchen can be ordered. That completed the list of jobs for the week, Big Tick we could come home feeling we had achieved something.

Oh and the pooch, well that’s the gorgeous Kia, who lives over the back and loves to come and help out.

Anyway enough from me enjoy the picture story.
